Monitor or scope

A monitor (or « scope ») continuously records the heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation in the blood. These data are recorded thanks to sensors and electrodes connected to the scope by cables.

Monitors are configured to alarm the caregiver if the patient's condition is unstable. These monitors are also connected to central monitoring stations so that the patient's condition remains permanently monitored, even when the caregiver is out of the room.
